I started teaching at Collins Elementary in 2004. I have taught 4th grade for the last 16 years & I love every minute of it. I have a bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Wayne State University, a masters degree in Elementary Education from Marygrove College, and a post-graduate certificate from Saginaw University.
I have been married to my wonderful husband, Michael, for 15 years. We have two amazing daughters! Audrina is 12 and is in 7th grade. She is starting at Malow Junior High this year. She is very athletic and is on the cheerleading team. Alexis is 9 and is in 4th grade. She keeps us laughing all the time because her giggle is infectious! She would love to meet some of my 4th graders this year. Our family also has 2 dogs named Max and Duke. They are small Pomeranians. They are also brothers and get into all kinds of trouble. Our family loves to bike together & we are often on the Clinton-Macomb bike trail. We also like to spend time at Houghton Lake at my husband's family's cottage.
I enjoy reading, Zumba, biking, and running after my 2 girls.
I believe that all children can achieve and learn when they are supported. I also believe in meeting children at their level, that is why my classroom is differentiated to meet all learners. Children in my classroom participate in the blended learning model. They learn skills and standards in a variety of ways at stations. Technology is an integral part of these stations. Blended learning also allows me to work with small groups of students so that I can meet their individual needs. I believe that with parents and teachers working together, students can acheive growth in all areas.
